Last week, we successfully rolled back Trump's nightmarish budget "plan" and passed a 2018 budget that will actually invest in the American people.
This budget represents tangible progress that will benefit all Americans, from combating the opioid epidemic to rebuilding America's infrastructure.
But the president's empty threat to veto this bill on Friday morning is yet another reminder of the dangers our erratic and belligerent president poses to our nation.
To continue making progress, we need to take back the Senate for Democrats and ensure that Congress can actually act as a check on Trump's dangerous leadership.
Through this budget, our government is making serious and necessary investments in child care, infrastructure, the environment, national security, election security, medical research, services for our veterans, and so much more.
The final budget didn't come about easily. Ultimately, we had to eliminate more than 120 "poison-pill" riders from the omnibus spending package, which would have restricted women's access to healthcare, rolled back crucial environmental protections, and restricted necessary consumer financial protections.
To continue making progress and investing in America's future, it is more important than ever that we double down on our work to take back the Senate this fall.
Thank you, as always, for your support.
