Take action: Protect public health funding in MA. Jennifer Childs-Roshak, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund.

Dear Searchingforreason.N,
Title X. The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. Medicaid. These are just a few of the federal public health programs that have been caught in the crosshairs of the Trump administration’s ideological agenda. Millions of people are at risk of losing the care and education they need to lead healthy, safe lives.
These attacks on essential federal programs make our public health funding in Massachusetts all the more vital. Moreover, rising STI rates and persistent disparities in unintended pregnancy among young people require increased funding from our state government. This week, the Massachusetts Legislature will meet to reconcile funding levels for our state’s Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs. As it stands, the House of Representatives has provided necessary funding increases to these programs, but the state Senate has not.
Tens of thousands of patients rely on these programs for care, and we need your help to ensure our state lawmakers act so that over 90 health centers, including Planned Parenthood, can continue to provide services like affordable birth control, lifesaving cancer screenings, and HIV counseling and testing to people with low-incomes who often face unjust barriers to care.
As the Trump administration actively works to shrink access to sexual and reproductive health care, Massachusetts must step up and lead the way in protecting and expanding public health funds and education. We have the power to build healthier, safer communities. Let’s make it happen.
Thank you for making your voice heard.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Childs-Roshak, MD, MBA
