I want to thank each of you for your very generous support of my campaign for Congress. I am incredibly grateful to you and to our community and am very proud of what we were able to accomplish together on behalf of the people of New Hampshire. Right now, I am focused on helping other Democratic candidates get elected here in New Hampshire this November as well as flipping the House: most significantly, helping Chris Pappas to ensure we keep New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District Blue and helping friends, fellow Veterans, and fellow former Obama Administration colleagues running for Congress in critical districts throughout our country. At this pivotal moment in our nation, I am asking you to join me in this effort.
In the coming days, I will be in touch with ways to support these committed public servants as they fight on our behalf for our democracy.
You know, in the weeks since the primary election in New Hampshire, there have been some highs, and admittedly some lows. But more than anything, as I’ve been out in our community knocking on doors, I’ve been constantly reminded of what is at stake for our country this November -- and what role all of us must play, from wherever we sit. I keep coming back to President Obama's words from his farewell address to the Nation:
"It falls to each of us to be those anxious, jealous guardians of our democracy; to embrace the joyous task we've been given to continually try to improve this great nation of ours. Because for all our outward differences, we all share the same proud title: Citizen. Ultimately, that's what our democracy demands. It needs you."
Thank you... for embracing this joyous task, for your active participation in our democracy, for your commitment to our great country, and for your unwavering support. I am grateful for your friendship, and look forward to continuing this important work together.
